The E3N-E4N study focuses on the impacts of contemporary way of live on human health, in a familial context over 3 generations.
The E3N-E4N study relies on a familial community, in order to establish a final cohort of about 200,000 individuals.
This study is the sequel of the E3N study which actively monitors 100,000 women since 1990 (30 years !), inviting their children, the fathers of these children and their grandkids to participate as well.
The E4N acronym means " étude épidémiologique auprès des enfants des femmes E3N " (epidemiologic study among children of E3N study women).
The E3N acronym, refers to " étude épidémiologique auprès de femmes de l'éducation nationale " (epidemiologic study among women of the French National Education).
E3N-E4N is one of the world's largest epidemiologic studies gathering family members over 3 generations.
Dr Gianluca Severi is the coordinator of the study.
Since 2020 the CEPH BRC hosts the salivary samples of E3N and E4N studies.
