- sizing
Sizes of 35,000 YACs were obtained by pulse field electrophoresis (FIGE) and
determined by
hybridization with a probe containing a mixture of labeled pBR322 and total
human DNA.
Under these conditions, the size range is 50-1800 kilobases and precision is
approximately 10%. Thus, YACs which have a size of 1800 kb could be bigger.
